Let the festivals Begin
August is coming to an end and Singapore is definitely hotting up, from now until the end of the year numerous festivals and events take place. The YOG are just coming to an end, that has been an exciting three weeks of young athletic talent competing in a world first.
We went for a walk to check out the Olympic Flame, surprisingly this ended up being an interesting stroll along the other side of Marina Bay. Three years ago this area was just a waste land of cranes and construction. It's true, Singapore never sleeps.

We started out at the Helix, where the opening and closing ceremony took place and our target the Olympic Flame was buring brightly here. We have been enjoying coming down here to discover what's new, as the construction work in this area continues.
Later as night fell we were entertained by the preparations for the closing ceremony. The laser lights put on quite a show across the bay.
The flame looks like a lighthouse. The lighthouse is very significant to Singapore and its development as a busy seaport.Celebrations in this part of the world means fireworks. Even during preparations there are fireworks. We enjoyed special show.
As we walked along towards the Marina Bay MRT from the Helix there were lots of new things to see. This fountain was outside a Gallery, I didn't realise that both were here.
The same Fullerton with the same Maybank, but from a different angle. It doesn't matter which angle it's still is an amazing building.
My favourite shot of the night. Across the water to the Stanford with the Esplanade, the Fullerton and the one of the bridges used by the F1 next month.
We are starting to get excited about September. The F1, this year we spalshed out and bought tickets to this event. Also the Bros are visiting, so we get to play tour guides for a few days.
Once they go home it will be a very busy time until the end of the year but I am sure we will find time to update with more festival photos.
