Singapore Lights up for Christmas
Recently we were walking down Orchard Road when I realised that music we were hearing were Christmas Songs. It was the first week in November. Ever since I have been noticing it is beginning to look a lot like christmas in Singapore.
Last night being a Tuesday Ruth and I took a walk along the length of Orchard Road to watch the Christmas lights come on. It really is something very special. When we arrived last year on Boxing day we noticed lots of Christmas stuff around. I would have to say that Singapore really does dress their shops for Christmas.
By the time we got to the top of Orchard up by Tanglen Mall it was snowing. Ruth and I experienced what it is like to be in a white Christmas. Who would ever have believed that it would snow in the tropics for around Christmas?? It was great to see so many people of different ages enjoying the fun. I think that Christmas in Singapore could maybe show up Christmas at home in New Zealand a little.
